Biostatistics Support for MSCI Students and Graduates
What type of support is available?
This is a resource for MSCI students who need biostatistical support for the completion of MSCI-related projects and/or preliminary data and preparation for grant proposals (e.g., a K Award level application, or VA Career Development Award).
As requested, this support may include workshops on statistical methods or computing resources.
Who is eligible for support?
At the moment, this service is for current MSCI students; however, it may be expanded to former MSCI students in the future if there is available time.
When is the support available?
Support is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact Thomas Stewart several weeks before any application or grant deadlines.

MSCI project and manuscript
Met in person to discuss analysis of registry data of paediatric congenital heart defect patients.
Goal is to describe incidence of ventricular arrhythmia (VA) following surgery.
Also hope to tease out the associations of VA and mortality.
Discussed the need for a clearly defined time zero.
Recommended a survival analysis with time dependent covariates.
Will work on analysis with TA and instructor during upcoming Biostatistics II course.
Recommended 90 hour voucher after the completion of the biostatistics course because the analysis method is advanced.
Had follow-up meeting to discuss issues with analysis of data.
