Ways to improve research

• An experienced researcher should be integrally involved in every project (mentors are very important!!)

• Research projects should probably be scrutinized more closely (studio like sessions with AREC members)

• Surveys themselves should be designed more carefully carefully than they have been (100 item surveys are far less useful than 3 item ones).

• We must use a good data entry interface and database management system. (it must be tested thoroughly).

Other questions

• AREC structure: how do projects get proposed? What happens before they reach Damon?

• Does anesthesiology want a person with dedicated time to do database management (rather than people working in excel?)

• Should we have a departmental wiki account or do we want individual level accounts
