CITI

• The VA, Vanderbilt, and TDoH all require CITI training, which must be completed using the CITI website. See below for more information.
• Vanderbilt has optional in person trainings which may substitute for a CITI training.

When naming files, remember to give them good names. Bad names are ones like valo.pdf (tells you nothing about the file) or InformationSecurity201.pdf (good descriptive name but could be overwritten by someone choosing the same name). Good names describe the file and are as specific as needed such as JaneDoe-InformationSecurity201.pdf if you want to overwrite your own file each year or JaneDoe-InformationSecurity201(2009).pdf to avoid overwriting.
For future reference only. No need to rename any files.

VA Learning University Talent Management System - TMS

• Need to set up an account as a WOC. Click "Create New User". See Jen or Rob regarding who to put as your VA contact when filling out the online form.
• Select HIPPA training required.
• Trainings offered include:
  • Privacy and HIPAA Training
  • VA Privacy and Information Security Awareness and Rules of Behavior
• Must enable Pop-ups for this website to do the training.
• Can complete the training using Firefox, but can't save or print the certificates (as of 2013-01).
• Can print / save the certificates using Chrome.
• Note EES and LMS - LMS are defunct.

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative - CITI

• CITI - Human Research Curriculum
  1. Initiate LOGIN procedures (New User)
  2. If you aren't affiliated with an institution yet, affiliate with the VA: "Nashville, TN-626"
  3. Complete the "Curriculum" survey - should automatically select for you to complete the Human Research course
  4. Complete Course

If you have taken the CITI course before check your expiration date by

• Logging into https://www.citiprogram.org
• Clicking on "Click here to see your previously completed coursework for Nashville, TN-626"
• Checking out the "Expiration Date" column, especially the last row in the table.

Compliance and Business Integrity CBI Awareness - brick and mortar

• Head down to the research office in the VA on the 2nd floor near the bridge to the Light Hall (where Kris Dunn's office is).
• As you enter through the glass door on your left will be a folder full of trainings.
• Find the CBI training folder. Read through the print out of the training slides. Take a copy of the completion form.
• Sign the completion form and get your VA employed supervisor to sign (most likely Ted or Marie).
• Make a copy for yourself and give a copy to Kris Dunn.
• Scan your copy to pdf (covering up your SSN so it remains secure) and post on this page. See Rob's certificate as an example.
