New guidelines for VICTR biostat support application (effective November 25, 2014)

  • VICTR will provide 2 levels of biostat analysis
    • 35 hours ($2000). Standard $2000 voucher gets 35 hours of consulting. If the investigator needs more than that, she/he can apply for a VICTR study and would require SRC approval before we proceed. The time already spent would be counted.
    • 90 hours ($5,000). VICTR studies (non-vouchers) get 90 hours of consulting, which will be reviewed by SRC before approval. When the amount of time spent exceeds 80 hours, a VICTR biostatistician will request that the investigator's home division/department/center provide a letter of support for funding should the time requirement exceed 90 hours. Work will be suspended until the signed letter is received.
  • PIs will still need to obtain a biostat quote to accompany the application by attending a biostatistics clinic or communication with VICTR biostatistician.
  • Cost sharing will no longer be required/available. If analysis for a given study requires more than 90 hours of work, it will be the PI’s responsibility to provide a center number to the department of Biostatistics for the remainder.
  • VICTR biostatistician will document the utilized hours on the StarBRITE so that the award can be closed and the VICTR allotted time will be complete.
  • PI’s with currently awarded projects that include cost share will be notified individually that VICTR will fund up to 90 hours ($5,000) for analysis with no cost share. Their awards will be updated to this amount. Any remaining analysis will be the PI’s responsibility to provide cost center number to the department of Biostatistics.
  • Only one voucher will be awarded per PI per year and a single project can only get support once.
