Pediatric growth charts are used to monitor children's growth and development, and assist in healthcare delivery and supervision. Researchers have developed syndrome-specific growth charts for several disorders in which affected children grow differently than unaffected children. As healthcare providers increasingly adopt electronic health record (EHR) systems in practice, there is a growing need to make available growth charts that can be readily integrated. This presentation will discuss the challenges associated with developing pediatric growth charts that can be integrated into EHR systems, including how growth is modeled in subpopulations.
