---+ Overview and Intended Audience of Statistical Thinking in Biomedical Research %STARTINCLUDE% The goal of the seven 1.5 hour session short course is to present the biostatistical concepts that researchers need in order to evaluate the results of published clinical studies, to design and analyze studies, and to collaborate effectively with biostatisticians. This course is intended to be offered yearly and is aimed at the following audience: 1 Clinical researchers 1 Basic researchers 1 Health services, outcomes, and epidemiologic researchers 1 Physicians interested in learning some basic tools used in [[http://ebm.vanderbilt.edu evidence-based medicine]] It is intended for individuals who do not have the time to enroll in the [[http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/prevmed/mph MPH]] or [[http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/msci MSCI]] degree programs. Those programs are recommended for the serious epidemiologic or public health researcher or clinical investigator. Course participants may receive CME credit. The focuses on experimental design, study design, and measurement issues and on interpretation of statistical results, rather than computations and formulas. It has no prerequisites.
