Staff Biostatistician Job Classifications/Qualifications
Biostatistician II
Masters degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or other
highly quantitative field with excellent command of one of the
following computing languages: R, Stata, or SAS (with R or Stata
preferred). Experience is preferred in at least one other language
from the following: R, Stata, SQL, Perl, Python, Ruby, C, C++, or SAS.
Training or significant experience in 5 of the following statistical
areas is required: experimental or study design, multiple regression,
longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, logistic regression,
categorical data analysis, clinical trials methodology, Bayesian methods, or machine
learning/bioinformatics. Training in biology or biomedical research
is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are
also required.
Biostatistician III
Qualifications for Biostatistician II, plus at least three years of
experience in biostatistics after receiving masters degree in statistics or biostatistics, or PhD in a closely related field. (Two years of experience with exceptional qualifications will be considered rarely.) Also required is at least one of the following: expertise in research grant development, multiple scientific publications, or extensive experience in biomedical research.
