Evaluating Interventions for Improving Physical Activity and Quality of Life (QOL)
Shi Huang, PhD Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Impaired functional capacity and reduced QOL are common in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and patients with aortic stenosis (AS) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). We recently collaborated with the faculty in Division of Cardiovascular Medicine to evaluate two home-based mobile health interventions that aimed to increase daily activity and improve quality of life. Our work led to two published papers and two R01 applications. In this talk, I will share these works and some statistical insights when analyzing longitudinal intervention data, including ordinal longitudinal data analysis, and how to integrate clinical events into the analysis.
