I graduated from Penn State in August 2014 with an M.S. in statistics. I did my undergraduate at Tulane University in New Orleans in electrical engineering and computer science. I worked for several years at TVA and applied combinatorial optimization to coal burning and linear programming to running the reservoir system. Worked as a consultant for many years, and got hired at Vanderbilt's Cancer Biology to maintain math models of cancer progression and help run a microscope. Working with the microscope data, it led me to statistics as the best means to interpret the data for the lab. I discovered a new passion in statistics, and went back and got my masters, which has led me to the present here in Biostatistics.

I love playing piano and board games, reading scifi, programming. I'm an NTP according Myers-Briggs, neither an introvert nor an extrovert.

<span style="background-color: transparent;">I have a wide variety of ways I'm embrace life around me.</span>
   * Photography. Grew up in a printing shop with a lot of cameras and equipment. Still love to work with photography. I miss the old school smell of hydroquinone.
   * Astronomy. I have a 10" and 18" Dobsonian telescope. Too bad Nashville gets 3 clear nights a year.
   * Game Theory. Looking for a Nash Equilibrium on a Tuesday night, I'm your guy.
   * Music. Love everything from New Orleans funk to Classical piano. Play some piano myself. Nothing quite like the percussiveness of Mussorgsky or the graceful melody of Satie.
   * Math. I love math. Especially Homotopy Type Theory ( [[http://homotopytypetheory.org/][HoTT]]). This is the big revolution in proof theory that shakes the foundation of math. The grand issues from Set theory mostly vanish. I'm still poking around to see what [[http://homotopytypetheory.org/][HoTT]] has to offer on the transfinite issue. Idris is the hot language.
   * Reading. I love reading so many different things. From South American hyperrealism to hard sci-fi. <p> </p>
