10/21/2014 Meet with Nahel and Pratik to discuss the reviewers feedback. ToDo: Stratified propensity matching, i.e., for each regional case, find the general cases that match exactly for some of the most important factors, such as CPT code and ASA classification, and then select among those based on propensity score. This would exclude some procedures, since there would be no exact match. But the size of these data make this approach possible. The interpretation of the resulting matched cohorts is as follows: Within each possible CPT code and ASA classification, matched cases were equally as likely (i.e, equal propensity) to have had regional versus general anesthetic.

• 02/06/2015: study revisited and made plan to modify the analyses per reviewers' recommendations. Will do 10 to 1 matching with replacement on ASA by CPT code combinations.
• 02/20/2015: data/code reviewed and cleaned.
• 03/03/2015: report sent to PI meeting schedule to discuss missing data issues and steps to proceed.
• 03/13/2015: meeting discussed outcome coding, reduced model (potential model overfitting for bid size models), trunk test of anesthesia type (ANOVA) and missing data. Will have a list of interesting interactions and refit the model. Lab data (_20 - 50% missing) will be removed from regression analysis.
• 03/18/2015: analysis done and report sent.
• 03/29/2015: tables for manuscript (summary tables, model results tables) sent to PI, drafted methods and results interpreting model results.
• 04/10/2015: final tables made and sent to PI. Results were finalized and sent to PI.
• 05/26/2015: Additional analysis of all outcomes was requested which were unadjusted and adjusted analysis with no interaction effects.
• 05/27/2015: results sent.
• 06/10/2015: preparing manuscript, made tables and figures. Circulating manuscript and making edits. *
