---+ Renaming files in Microsoft VSS This may sound tricky, but it's actually rather simple. The reason behind this method is to preserve the file history. It helps to make sure no one else will be using the file during this process. 1 VS.NET 1 Open the project in VS.NET 1 Rename the file(s) 1 Check-in changes to the project and file(s) 1 Close VS.NET 1 VSS 1 Delete the file(s) with the *new* name in VSS - they *don't* have the history 1 Rename the old file(s) - they *do* have the history 1 VS.NET 1 Open the project in VS.NET 1 Get latest version on all affected files
