Recognition and Rewards Program (R&R)

What is it?

Vanderbilt Medical Center has established the Recognition and Reward Program in order to recognize the difference great performers make. The Department of Biostatistics will implement this program by acknowledging positive behaviors and results, as well as exceptional performance. We will recognize individuals we work with (peers), individuals we report to (leaders), and individuals who report to us (staff).

Available options

  • Non-monetary recognition: electronic “Thank You” cards that may be given by anyone in the department to faculty and staff. The Vanderbilt Medical Center Award web site is http://hr.vanderbilt.edu/recognize/login (Note:Only authorized individuals).

  • Monetary awards: to any departmental member (gift certificates, rather than cash) and may be given by designated award givers. Gift certificates are considered taxable income. It is important to be specific about the reasons for recognizing a member; make sure to mention what the prospective recipient did and what the result(s) of his/her contribution was. Committee will review information and make decisions about monetary awards.

How do you nominate?

You may nominate members through Dbconnect's R&R module. Emails should be sent to mario.davidson@vanderbilt.edu to nominate non-departmental staff members.
