Faculty and Staff Relations

The Department of Biostatistics is a place where staff and faculty members are important. We all have different jobs, but not different worth. All members are expected to be respectful and considerate of each other at all times.

The success of the department depends on the effective interaction of our faculty, administrative staff, statistical support staff, and systems administration staff. How we treat each other indicates how we value each other’s worth as individuals and to the department. Maintaining a cheerful, positive, respectful and professional attitude at all times is mandatory. Inconsiderate behavior such as meeting and lunch hour interruptions or placing unreasonable demands on staff members is not allowed. Different assignments will have different priorities and deadlines. It is important that these assignments be prepared with as much lead time as possible and that priorities and deadlines be discussed with administrative staff. It is unacceptable to demand that staff change their priorities for the benefit of individual faculty members.

If a staff or faculty member feels she/he needs more administrative support in general, she/he should bring this to the attention of Sanel Filipovic. Faculty and staff are encouraged to make a good faith effort to resolve competing needs for time and resources.
