Install PlayOnMac and Power and Sample Size program on Macintosh
- Download PlayOnMac (the file is PlayOnMac_4.2.6.dmg as of 19 Feb 2015)
- Double click on the Apple disk image () just downloaded. This will bring up the PlayOnMac installer
- Drag to PlayOnMac and Uninstall PlayOnMac icons to the Applications folder
- Close the installer
- Download the Power and Sample Size Program Windows installer (pssetup3.exe)
- Run PlayOnMac
- Click on "Install a program"
- Click on "Install a non-listed program"
- Select "Install a program in a new virtual drive"
- Enter “ps” as the name of the virtual drive
- For “What would you like to do before installation?” leave all unchecked
- Browse to where pssetup3.exe was downloaded
- Select PS.exe as the file for shortcut
- Don’t select another shortcut
- Exit the PlayOnMac program
Once the PS program has been installed, a font needs to be copied to a location where it can be found. Below are commands that will perform that copy. The cp command assumes that all the PlayOnMac files are in their default locations and that all default choices were made when installing PS.
> cd ~
> cp /Applications/PlayOnMac.app/Contents/Resources/unix/wine/share/wine/fonts/symbol.ttf Library/PlayOnMac/wineprefix/ps/drive_c/windows/Fonts/
