Department Members Displaced by the Flood or Having Other SIgnificant Challenges
- Linda Stewart was evacuated from her home in Old Hickory by boat. Update 3May10: Her house can only be accessed by boat; many nearby houses have two feet of water inside.
- Linda saw her house and neighborhood on 6May10 - they were disasters
- Update 14May10: Linda had a good meeting with FEMA May 13. Contractors have begun work, covered by her flood insurance. Her car was a total loss but was insured. Linda expects to be ready for help on May 22.
- Update 21May10: I may need help on May 29. Tomorrow May 22nd is my mother's 78th birthday. (LDS)
- Aixiang Jiang and her daughter were also evacuated by boat safely from their home. They are currently staying at a local church. Their house and garage are badly flooded.
- Update 4May10: Over 10 division members are helping Aixiang to sort through the damage to her home. They are currently in the process of removing her floors and searching for dampness that could pose potential problems.
- David Biagi's basement is flooded
- Update: David's basement should be finished today; all ok
- Bashar Shakhtour and family are without power and are staying at his brother-in-law's home
- Update: Bashar and his family are back home and have power; all ok
- Audrey Carvajal is marooned in Bellevue because of streets being underwater or impassable
- Update: Audrey is no longer stranded; all ok
- Patrick Arbogast is marooned in Bellevue with streets under 3 feet of water. His house isn't flooded but he is without power. Update: No longer stranded. All ok.
- WJ Cunningham has flooding in his basement (where his studio is located) and first floor
- Update: no serious damage;all ok
- Abby Burke's back yard is flooded and she has no power or water; she is starting cleanup today (3May)
- Update: river no longer runs through yard; all ok
- If anyone has a sump pump that Steven Chen could borrow, his crawlspace is flooded and has dislocated his water heater.
- Steven's basement is now dry; all ok
- Kimberly Crimin has a flooded garage where she was storing things that didn't fit into the rental house.
- Robert Greevy had the first floor of his house submerged in ~5 ft of flood water. He, Bess, and their 3 week old baby are staying at Tatsuki's while he's out of the country. Needs:
- Information on the logistics of rebuilding. The blueprints for his home, floor plan, and wiring plan. Guidance on code permits, where and when to apply. Information on how to fill out the casualty loss tax amendment paper work - Peggy is working on this.
- Peggy has compiled some information about IRS forms, instructions, etc.connected with flood relief. Please let her know if you would like a copy.
- We have the grounds in pretty good shape and are moving to washing and storing items for the renovation process. We are pretty good on bleach and sponges. Drying cloths, storage bins, and packing paper or newspaper to wrap delicates will be a great help. - RG

- Department members who are affected by the flood should contact Frank when they are ready for help or need a place to stay. Please take advantage of our many volunteers!
- As of 5PM today, Gary Force Toyota will work with any flood victims who have lost their car(s) to obtain new transportation. With proof of loss, they are providing $500 towards any purchase which can be applied as down payment. Gloria Russell 1-270-843-4321 or 1-800 755-1265.
