From January 2008, Mr. Pengcheng Lu is the master's statistician for Ophthalmology with 30% support. Dr. Li maintains 5% support and will be supervising Pengcheng.

  1. Dr. Anita Agarwal (09/2004 -): Genetics of diabetic retinopathy (IRB approved). We are recruiting subjects. Grants submitted: DTRC (Anita, 01/2007, not funded); Discovery (Chun, 03/2007, not funded); R21 (Chun, 06/2007 first submission, 03/2008 resubmission).
  2. Dr. Karen Joos (06/2006 -): Pressure change in the eyes of rats as a result of a device. Two measuring tools were used. Manuscripts under preparation (5/2/07)
  3. Dr. Rachel Kuchtey (02/2007 -): Candidate gene study on glaucoma.

  46. Dr. Keshini Parbhu (12/2006): We met to discuss her data. I recommend she collect the controls. I analyzed data about periocular trauma in pediatric patients that sustained lacerations to their canalicular system (tear duct).
  47. Dr. Korianne Galler (12/2006): Test if entrapment identification of the CT and the operative procedures are concordant or not in adults and in children, respectively, and to see if the discordance in children is statistically significant.

  53. Dr. Denis O’Day (04/2005 - 2006): Evaluation of ophthalmology residency training programs in the United States. We have done initial analysis on the available data. I have given a seminar at the Department of Biostatistics on this topic and Denis has given a presentation at AOS meeting (O’Day DM, Li C. 2006. Transactions of the American Ophthalmological Society 104:129-142 (PMID: 17471333)). The paper is published (O’Day DM, Li C. 2008. Archives of Ophthalmology 126:548-553 (PMID: 18413528)). We have requested for more relevant information that will be incorporated into analysis.
  54. Dr. Franco Recchia (06/2005 - 06/2006): Relationship between Cox-2 inhibitor drug use and retinal vein occlusion. This is a retrospective case-control study. We evaluated sample size requirement and plausibility of expanding the study. We also analyzed the current data and plan to incorporate other relevant variables into analysis. A paper has been published (Recchia FM, Chen E, Li C, Maguluri S. 2008. Retina 28:134-137 (PMID: 18185149))
