Application of Principal Components Analysis for Data Reduction using National, Community-Level Socioeconomic and Health Metrics

This session will focus on the application of principal components analysis for data reduction of American Community Survey, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, and County Health Rankings zip code-level and county-level socioeconomic and health-related metrics. Basic methodology will be reviewed, and possible interpretations of components will be examined. The use of derived, community-level standardized scores on components will be illustrated through the analysis of Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients national registry data of lung transplant candidates.
