• For Windows:
  • For KDE Linux (this is generally what everyone in the department runs):
  • From the Linux Command line:

Run the following command:
      $ /sbin/ifconfig eth0
      eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0C:6E:87:A7:1C
                inet addr:160.129.129.111  Bcast:160.129.129.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
                UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
                RX packets:10009249 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
                TX packets:11153811 errors:114733 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

                Interrupt:10

From the output above, we can see that ip address is 160.129.129.111. That's your ip address.
