Genomic data integration across several studies: An overview

Debashis Ghosh, PhD

Wednesday, November 16, 1:30-2:30pm, MRBIII Conference Room 1220

There is now a proliferation of comprehensive genomic datasets being generated by a variety of technologies. One of the major issues is how to sensibly combine these data so as to better understand the etiology of disease and nominate further molecules and/or pathways for intensive study. In this talk, we will describe issues in the integration of such data, and present a (decidedly) biased review of prior proposals. A statistical issue that runs hand in hand with this topic is multiple comparisons. Time permitting, we will also discuss some recent work on multiple testing procedures, primarily focusing on extensions of the Benjamini-Hochberg procedure to accommodate the so-called "empirical null hypothesis" of Efron.
