Current Priorities in the Department of Biostatistics

• Faculty recruitment: Recruit leader and support staff for Data Coordinating center; recruit PhD Associate and Assistant Professors.

• Staff recruitment: Recruit Biostatisticians I, II and III.

• Financial management: Extraordinary efforts are underway to achieve budget goals for FY07. Budget work for FY08 will begin within the next week and anticipated due date for the new budget is 2-21-07.
  • We will request credits for professional development support from collaborative departments by January 20, 2007.
  • All restricted center must have a positive cash or zero balance at year-end.

• Payroll management: January 16 is next deadline and, as usual, several changes will be required.

• Grants and contracts management: The department database (dbconnect) is an excellent resource and contains updated information about projects (Fed and non-Fed).

• Space and Facilities: Plans are to use available space in the 2525 West End building until the new building is available (2009).
