Current Priorities in the Department of Biostatistics

• Faculty recruitment: Recruit leader and support staff for Data Coordinating center; recruit Phd Associate and Assistant Professors

• Staff recruitment: Recruit Biostatisticians I, II, III, Computer Systems Analyst I and Administrative Assistant

• Financial management: Begin preparing for FY07 budget; analyze data from FY06 budget; set standard date for monthly reconciliation of BA3 with subsequent sign off of general ledgers; rebudget account numbers as appropriate; finalize financial reporting system for all centers

• Payroll management: Coordinate constantly changing funding support; develop systems to ensure proactive payroll management

• Grants and contracts management: Regularly communicate with faculty and staff regarding funding changes to increase accountability for time and effort reporting; generate department report with current and pending research commitments; review and analyze data to plan future funding strategies

• Space and Facilities: Continue planning for TVC space
