Current Priorities in the Department of Biostatistics

• Faculty recruitment: Recruit leader and support staff for Data Coordinating center; recruit lead biostatistician for Section of Surgical Sciences; recruit Phd Associate and Assistant Professors

• Staff recruitment: Recruit Biostatisticians I, II, III and Computer Systems Analyst I

• Financial management: Complete FY06 budget by 2-16-05; set standard date for monthly reconciliation of BA3 with subsequent sign off of general ledgers; rebudget account numbers as appropriate; finalize financial reporting system for all centers; complete Biosynexus report by 2-20-05; complete core invoicing for Urology funds by 1-31-05

• Grants and contracts management: Finalize contract with AMGEN; create cost centers for AMGEN and MMC; regularly communicate with faculty and staff regarding funding changes to increase accountability for time and effort reporting; generate department report with current and pending research commitments; review and analyze data to plan future funding strategies

• Space and Facilities: Communicate with Finance regarding anticipated expense for repair/renovation to new space in D-corridor; complete estimates for renovation
