Continuing Education and Skills Development to Document for Annual Evaluations

The following template is intended to be used primarily by staff biostatisticians on a continuing basis and given to their supervisors for yearly evaluations. Each staff biostatistician is required to complete at least 100 Continuing Biostatistics Education hours each year (roughly 2 hrs/wk). Continuing Biostatistics Education includes biostatistical seminars, seminars and grand rounds attended in other departments that increase relevant biomedical knowledge, short courses, and relevant independent study.

Biostatistics Seminars Attended

Provide dates, seminar titles, and presenters' names.

MS Thursday Skills Workshops Attended

Provide dates, presenters, and workshop topics, e.g. identify statistical method covered, Promotions Committee Update meetings, Continuous Quality Improvement meetings, etc.

Communication Skills Workshops Attended

Provide dates and venue if not in the department.

Statistical Computing Series (R Clinics) Attended

Provide dates, and when applicable, presention titles and presenters' names.

Biostatistics Clinics Attended

Provide dates.

Short Courses Attended

Provide dates, the name of the courses, venues, presenters, and number of hours. Dr. Harrell's Regression Modeling Strategies (RMS) Short Course should be included here.

Grand Rounds and Other Seminars in Other Departments Attended

Provide dates, seminar titles, presenters' names, and venues.

Relevant Books Read and Audiobooks Listened To

Provide standard citation information.

Relevant Papers and Online Material Read and Listened To

Provide standard citation information.
