For all MS Biostatistician positions:
  • Review the How To Apply section of our Job Openings page.
  • Log into the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Jobline and click on "Search for a job".
  • You may review all open postings, or use the drop down for All Categories and type in Biostatistics; any open Biostatistician postings will be displayed. You may also type in requisition number SF58396.
  • Once you have applied for any open position you feel qualified for, please do NOT contact any department personnel directly. All applications must pass through Vanderbilt's Human Resources screening process; until our department receives applications from HR, we have no knowledge of them. Once we receive it, you will be notified of your status by a department member. Department of Biostatistics recruitment process:
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
STEP-BY-STEP/PRE-INTERVIEW
1. Application submitted to HR through online application.
2. Applications initially screened by designated HR recruiter.
Qualified applicant resumes forwarded to Biostatistics search committee chair.
3. Search committee and Department chairs review application materials.
4. Chair presents to search committee, if appropriate. Committee meets every two weeks.
5. If committee members vote to move to next step(s), candidate will be contacted for an initial phone interview.
6. If phone interview is favorable, candidate will be asked to complete a background check consent form and have references send letters to search committee chair.
7. Committee members contact prior employers and verify background information.
8. With successful background check in place, candidate may be invited for an interview with 2-4 weeks.
9. Members of the biostatistics administrative team will coordinate travel and meeting itinerary with candidate, typically via email. Airline tickets, hotel accommodations, ground travel will be pre-paid by Department; meals will be paid by candidate with receipts submitted to Admin Team after the interview visit.
10. On the day of interview, candidate should plan to be at VUMC from 8:30AM-4:30PM. Parking or other transportation arrangements will be provided with itinerary.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
STEP-BY-STEP/POST INTERVIEW
1. Candidate will be contacted within two weeks regarding status (i.e., offer or no offer).
2. If position is offered, candidate will be provided with a written offer letter with title, salary (determined by both experience and internal equity), relocation policy for staff biostatisticians and Office of International Services policies and internal visa processing requirement(s), if necessary. The offer letter will request written acceptance or rejection within two weeks of offer date.
3. Start date is negotiable but generally preferred within 6-8 weeks.
