Administrative Team Strategies
Ensure effective communication among all team members
Everyone is responsible for effective communication; each member will raise issues frequently and openly
Implement the assembly-line process of stopping the work until issue is addressed and resolution reached
Continually improve customer service (internal and external customers); exceed customer expectations
Communicate directly, cleary and effectively in a respectful manner
Be accountable for commitments (follow-up phone calls and/or e-mails)
Treat others as you wish to be treated and then eleVate to an even higher level
Same day turnaround for signature documents such as proposal transmittal forms, conflicts of interest, PAFs, etc.
Create methods to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Share ideas and teach others
Create user "quick guides" to assist new hires in processes (post in TWiki)
Utilize technology effectively and implement paperless systems where possible
Become heavy users of the TWiki
Regularly attend Linux workshops
Improve organizational skills
Organize department shared drive according to guidelines in the TWiki
Enhance understanding of roles, and appreciate value each team member adds to overall success
Review the Job Task Matrix and provide input
Increase cross-training in preparation for any leaves or absences (ensures coverage)
Be actively involved in creating a positive team environment
Each member will "own" their part in team success by building up other members and being candid
Say "Thank you" and "Please" often
Refine Performance Evaluation
Create department specific key functions for each position
Regularly review "development goals" section of the performance evaluation
Establish objective measures for performance criteria
Create realistic and measurable goals (i.e., turnaround within 24 hours - or - to be completed by end of Q3)
Institute Promotion System
Provide employees with ladder goals to reach next level in their career
Supervisor provides guidance and mentoring to assist in career development path for staff
