Gaim and Jabber

We now have jabber server running on the biostat server for use by anyone in the department. Jabber is an instant messaging service similar to AIM (AOL instant messenger), and there's a jabber client available in Linux called Pidgin. Instructions for setting up Gaim can be found at PidginSetup.

IT group CQI project

In an effort to better server our user community, members of the Biostatistics IT group will be making brief visits to each work site on a regular schedule. These visits will give the faculty and staff an opportunity to ask questions and demonstrate problems. We think that most simple problems can be corrected during a short visit. If we find that more time is needed, we will make an appointment that is mutually convenient.
